James Boag Birdcage Marquee @ Melbourne Cup
James Boag celebrated Melbourne Cup in style with a stunning Birdcage marquee. The World Loves Melbourne (Samantha and David) was invited by James Boag to join in the festivities and imbibe the conviviality.
Highlights of the James Boag Birdcage Marquee are:
- Natures elements theme
- A world-first innovation on show within the marquee – the James Boag Meteorphonium (pronounced meet-e-or-phone-ium) - will play a constantly evolving musical symphony ‘conducted’ by data collected from a weather station at Flemington
- An eye-catching kinetic wall ripples and flows with the Flemington breeze
- A delicious menu designed by legendary chef, restaurant owner and media personality Matt Moran.
Samantha looking stunning outside the James Boag marquee. The design of the James Boag Birdcage Marquee was spectacular with guests entering amidst foliage in a foyer and then climbing the stairs to a large entertainment area with amazing balconies and views.
The Matt Moran (Aria and Chiswick) designed cuisine was spectacular and showcased a Tasmanian style menu: from morning bites of tins of baked beans with tomato, chorizo and brioche toast and buttermilk pannacotta with toasted corn flake and rasberry rubble to mid morning treats of Confit Tasmanian salmon with macadamia tahini and pomegranate, as well as Cherry waffles and duck. Ribbon sandwiches with poached chicken and herb mayo proved popular while lunch treats excited including Salt and pepper whiting brioche with xo mayo and Seared kingfish with radish, avocado and wasabi.
There was also plenty of other small bites that thrilled - all washed down with James Boag beverages including White Rabbit White Ale and Little Creatures Pale Ale.
The James Boag Meteorphonium is a world first instrument that transforms environmental and meteorological data into a stunning musical symphony. From it's new home in Flemington the instrument was able to read weather data and crowd noise in real time, to create a symphony of the Melbourne Cup carnival.
The World Loves Melbourne had a stunning time in the James Boag marquee, with exceptional food, entertainment and a convivial atmosphere for the Melbourne Cup.
